The last few days have been very intense! Toledo-Madrid-Sevilla-Madrid with trains at 6 am, concerts and rehearsals all day while taking care of my 1 year old. In this picture, I am warming up before the rehearsal but my focus is clearly on someone else 😂 I love how motherhood is teaching me to prioritize my life differently but it’s so challenging sometimes. Traveling with a baby is very difficult but working and raising your child at the same time is even more difficult. Lots of things in this society needs to change in order for mother’s to raise our children with less pressure and less guilt. #workingmom #violinist #ontheroad #musicianlife #travel #1yearold #stillbreastfeeding

I show love through food. I love cooking for people and hosting parties at my house. My mother always says that my food is borderless and international 😂 I do think it is the best way to describe my cooking but more importantly, it describes the person I strive to be. My life, my family, my house is a mix of Korea, the US and Spain. While it is amazing, it definitely has its challenges. I’ve made plenty of mistakes in navigating these challenges but knowing that somehow comforts me. It allows me to connect with a more honest version of myself and I feel humbled by that. I believe that we are here to help one another. Been feeling a lot of intense feelings lately. I feel so grateful to be a musician, to have so much love and support around me, for my healthy baby Gael, and so many more things. But I’ve been mostly grateful for some of the personal work that I’ve been doing with my therapist. Revisiting difficult moments in the past is tough but I’ve been able to shed a different light to some things and being able to relive some of those experiences with a different perspective is changing me. Even though too often our success is measured by how many followers or likes we have, I find it difficult to get myself to post as much as I “should”. Having to keep up my social media image takes away from concentrating on the important things and truly being connected to what I’m doing. When I’m at soundcheck, I would like to just check my sound, conserve my energy, get to know the venue, connect with my band members, warm up properly, stretch, eat a bit, set up to sell CDs, change my clothes etc.etc instead of having to promote and show off that I’m about to play a gig on Instagram. The reason why I like these pictures is because they capture true feelings and authentic moments. Nothing fake, nothing forced, nothing staged. This is what we do when we are in our element. The promo stuff is important but it’s not genuine. The smiles on @danielgarciadiego @mcarrillomusic and Borja are worth so much more than a million likes and followers.
